Why can't I sleep, am I getting it wrong?
Stuck between the sheets, it can't have been that long.
Staring at the ceiling, counting off days,
Smoke a few seconds past and start it all again.
Perhaps if I was face down, my hands on my ears
Why, then I could resign myself, lie comatose for years.
We all need comfort to cope with outside
But it's been three weeks now and this bed still feels too wide

What am I doing outside at this time of year?
I can do anything, plenty of silence to break,
